Stopwatch Calibration

ACCUSPLIT offers NIST-traceable calibration services for stopwatches. In other words, we will certify in writing that the watch is accurate to within stated parameters.

We also offer some watches for sale with calibration already completed – if the part number ends in “C,” the watch comes pre-calibrated. See our current price list or e-store for more info.

Stopwatch Accuracy and Calibration
ACCUSPLIT stopwatches use highly accurate 32MHz quartz crystals for precise timing. Our professional stopwatches are accurate to within 0.01 seconds per hour, when originally shipped from the factory. However, accuracy can vary with factors such as the age of crystal, temperature, and others. Dropping a watch can also result in a shift in the quartz crystal accuracy.

ACCUSPLIT Calibration Services
We will calibrate your ACCUSPLIT professional stopwatch for a modest fee. To receive calibration services, you must mail your stopwatch to our Repair Center. Most of our professional watches can be calibrated, but a few cannot - please see the list below before sending watches in for calibration services.

Stopwatch Calibration involves adjusting a variable resistor (potentiometer) inside the watch case, while viewing the watch’s timing accuracy (in seconds per day) using certified metrology equipment.
